This is Me

This is Me

My name is Jodi. In the past year I have gone from 130lbs. to 185lbs. Now that was hard on me bacause I have always been a small girl. Now I'm wearing size 13 pants.

I have tried a few things to bring down my weight but they just dont work. Do you have any information or advice that could help me?

I would like to have a trainer but I just dont have the money for one. If you can help me that would be greatly appreciated.

You're not alone
by: Beth

Hi! I'm new to this forum but this particular post caught my eye. I think it is totally true that to find the best way to lose weight is to find out what caused it in the first place. It could be as simple as a small change of lifestyle to something more drastic like anxiety or depression. The key is definitely to find out what the problem is and then go from there. Honestly - once you find the issue you will find the solution easier and it will make dieting and losing weight that much easier too!

Hi Jodi: Thanks for writing and for the photo. Your story sets off alarm bells. Gaining 55 lbs in one year is alot, and because you didn't go into much detail, I am wondering what lead to the sudden gain. I imagine that you know what has caused this but didn't include that in your submission.

The key to getting control, stopping further weight gain and beginning to get rid of the excess may be in understanding what got you here.

If you have some sort of medical condition related to hormones (or otherwise) it would be best to first sort this out with professionals.

Emotional stress can also be a contibutor.

Without knowing your background, it is difficult to guess the cause(s) of your weight gain, but unless you figure this out and resolve it, you will be struggling to reverse it.

Tell me more about whats going on and I'll try to help.

Cindy
