Thank you so much for your words of wisdom and encouragement. I had a long chat with my husband last night and I'm feeling a little better about getting myself started on a regular workout regime and diet plan. You are absolutely right that I have to be accountable for myself. I do want to do this for my children as well. I will try to keep up on my postings so I can let you know how I'm progressing. Thanks again, you seem to have a good head on your shoulders.

Some advise by: Carla Haug
HI!
I understand your frustration. I have a 3 year old little boy, they're crazy! I am also an older mom, I'm 43! Here's my comment and advise. I know it is tough with kids, I am a fulltime student, Master's degree plus K-12 Physical Education License. I also prior to this year had a personal training business. I only postponed that to student teach. I keep house and get my school work done and play with my son and still get in my workouts. It depends on how bad you truly want it. I get up an extra hour early in the morning when everyone is asleep and do my workouts. It's tough sometimes and i'm tired, but I want to stay fit and feel good for the day. It also gets that metabolism rolling for the day. Plus, it's done with. As far as the eating part, it takes time and discipline. Little by little start to eliminate bad things from your diet. For example, start by stopping refined sugar or bad snacks like chips! The more you begin exercising and seeing results, the more you'll want to start eating healthier. Also, change your workouts. Don't just do one thing. Some mornings I run, some I do yoga, some I ride my stationary bike and do resistance training. It keeps it interesting and not so stale! Remember, you have two beautiful children, you have to want to do it for them, if anything. Being older, I know I want to be able to keep up with my son, I bet you feel the same! Believe in yourself, you can do anything you want. Most of all, be accountable, do not blame others for missing a workout or putting the wrong things in your mouth. Once you take responsibility for youself, you may be amazed how well you do. I journal a lot, as well. I have faith in you, you should, too! Good luck!
